UAE private sector companies with 50 or more employees must meet their 1 percent Emiratisation target before July 7, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has warned.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Companies failing to meet these targets will face an AED42,000 fine, starting July 8.<\/p>\n

Government\u2019s vision: Private sector participation<\/h4>\n

MoHRE said this decision was taken by taking into consideration the\u00a0Eid Al Adha holiday, which falls on the fourth week of June, \u201ctherefore, we decided giving more time for companies to reach their targets,\u201d according to a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the Ministry is committed to achieving its objectives of creating a competitive job market for UAE nationals and developing their skills through more collaboration with the private sector, we decided allowing more time for companies to comply with the decision and avoid relevant penalties,\u201d MoHRE said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe call on companies to take advantage of the extended deadline to reach their targets.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“Emirati professionals have proven their competence across a range of positions in the private sector that require a high level of efficiency and knowledge,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis provides an enormous boost to our efforts, in line with the government\u2019s objectives and vision. We consider the private sector to be an active partner in achieving a long-term growth, as our collaborative efforts will benefit the job market.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ministry also said that the objectives of the\u00a0Emiratisation targets are to \u201cactivate and enhance the role and competitiveness of UAE nationals in the labour market, as well as to ensure their active participation in the economic development.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
